The HTC M8 was leaked in a 12 minute long video earlier today. This clearly shows the features and the body of the device. Now the only thing still a mystery about the forthcoming successor to the HTC One is its name. The video, which was taken down but has since been re-uploaded multiple times, goes into great detail about the HTC One 2/HTC One Up/HTC M8/All new HTC One/HTC One 2014 edition/whatever – leaving little with the company to reveal themselves at the official launch event on the 25th of March.
According to the leak, originally posted by user Roshan Jamkatel, the upcoming handset has a larger 5.2in screen, microSD card slot and dual cameras on the rear, for improved low light performance as well as bokeh-like effects. The touch-sensitive buttons of the original HTC One are gone, replaced with the onscreen ones built into Android 4.4 KitKat. Sense, HTC’s custom user interface, has also been upgraded to version 6.0.
Unfortunately the video doesn’t go into specifics regarding the phone’s specification – leaving us to speculate whether the current rumours of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and a larger 2,900mAh battery are accurate.
