Ever since the official launch of iOS 7, Apple has been hard at work testing iOS 7.1. Apple is gearing to make the first major update to its iOS 7 software official any day now. John Gruber from Apple-oriented blog Daring Fireball has learned that the update will include an app which will stream performances from the iTunes Festival.
According to Daring Fireball’s Jon Grubber, Apple is planning to launch a specific app to support SXSW, but this app requires some specific features that are only available on iOS 7.1. This is what he had to say,
Apple’s first iTunes Festival in the U.S. starts a week from today at SXSW in Austin. Apple is going to stream the performances to iOS devices using an app, but I’ve heard from a little birdie that the app requires iOS 7.1 (which explains why the app isn’t out yet). That means iOS 7.1 should ship any day now.
The first-ever iTunes Festival will host performances such as Coldplay, Soundgarden, Kendrick Lamar and others so the app might come in pretty handy.
iOS 7.1 also includes some visual changes on the keyboard, phone application, FaceTime, and obviously the support for its new CarPlay service that we’ve already seen recently. We also know that it will fix some of the rebooting bugs that many have been experiencing. Let’s see if Grubber is right once again.
