Samsung has revealed the list of Galaxy Devices that will get the Android 7.0 Nougat update in a blog post. Due to the fragmentation on Android, not all devices will be getting the update.
Android Nougat was announced months ago, as you will remember, but it’s only now that Samsung has gotten around to actually publishing which of its smartphones will benefit from the update.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are now officially receiving the final Nougat update as well, and I even made a video on how to install it which you can check out here if you’re interested.
Beyond those two main flagships, Samsung will also be looking to push out Nougat to a number of other devices, with the company promising that the supported devices, or at least an unspecified few of them, will get Nougat “within the first half of the year” 2017.
The devices with current known support for Nougat are,
- Galaxy S7
- Galaxy S7 Edge
- Galaxy S6
- Galaxy S6 Edge
- Galaxy S6 Edge Plus
- Galaxy Tab A with S Pen
- Galaxy Tab S2 (LTE unlocked version)
- Galaxy Note 5
- Galaxy A3
- Galaxy A8
The list only really covers a relatively small portion of Samsung’s available lineup, both smartphone and tablet, but it’s still a decent enough set of devices to get going with. It includes not only a couple of flagship top-end devices, like the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, but also some of the lower-level devices which is a good thing.
For those that have a device listed above, you should stay on alert. You never know when that update hits your device.
